Sister of woman gunned down at Mugs & Jugs wants justice. Why she worries she won’t get it

Early on the morning of Aug. 23, 2023, Diamond Jordan got word that her sister, 25-year-old Tierra Binion, had been shot to death in the parking lot of Mugs and Jugs , a bar in Pensacola about two hours from Jordan’s home in Excel, Alabama.

She rushed to get there and pulled up just after Binion’s body had been moved.

“I arrived as soon as they picked up her body out of the street, and there was a puddle of blood that was pouring into the drain right there at Mugs and Jugs. I mean, it was just an absolute bloodbath,” Diamond recalled. “From what I understand, three or four of her friends were trying to analyze how bad it was, and they told me they kept wiping the blood from her face and it just kept pouring out.”

Escambia Sheriff’s investigators say 25-year-old Christian Ketchup shot Binion, a mother of 5-year-old twin boys, after he and his girlfriend, Rachel DeRise, had a run-in with her in the bar parking lot.

As painful as it is to revisit her sister’s murder, Jordan is determined to make sure people know what happened and that her younger sister’s death isn’t minimized or forgotten.
