VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A popular Florida-based grocery store chain is set to cut the ribbon on a new supermarket in Hampton Roads. A new Publix Super Market will hold its grand opening on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 a.m. Its arrival comes a year after the first Publix in the seven cities came to Suffolk. There are also Publix locations in Williamsburg and Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, and the grocery store chain is preparing to open stores in Chesapeake and Carrollton sometime soon.
