The Bay Area saw a mix of rain and snow Monday evening as a cold front passed through, bringing much-needed moisture to the region. Mount Tamalpais recorded 1.28 inches of rain, and even a few wet flakes were spotted on Chews Ridge above Big Sur, where snow levels reached about 7,200 feet.
Lingering showers are expected to continue through midnight, with drier conditions setting in by Tuesday morning. However, fog and cooler temperatures are likely overnight due to the recent rainfall and lingering moisture. Inland areas could see temperatures dip below freezing, posing a risk for frost.
Looking ahead, more rain is on the way later this week, with showers expected from Wednesday through Saturday, followed by additional rainfall into next week.
