The Morehouse family is donating the tree from their front lawn on Lindenwood Drive.
“I nurtured that tree,” said Jackie Morehouse. She spent nine years taking such good care of it, that neighbors would often stop and admire it.
Her husband, Paul, said that although the tree holds many memories, it’s a good time for it to go.
“It’s kind of reaching out into our driveway, so it’s outgrown its location,” Paul said.
OGS crews came to cut down and haul it away to the Empire State Plaza. The other NYS Holiday tree that will sit in East Capitol Park will be cut down in Malta on Thursday.
