BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Timelapse videos show the major surprise dust storm that made its way into Kern County Monday afternoon.
The massive dust wall is known as a “haboob,” which are very common in southwestern United States, according to the National Weather Service.
Clouds to clear throughout the day, next storm arrives Thursday
The haboob started in Tulare County around 3 p.m. and it made its way to Kern County.
According to the National Weather Service, the haboob was traveling at 25 mph.
