(KOAM) – The Missouri Public Service Commission (MPSC) has approved new tariff rates for Spire Missouri, Inc. , resulting in significant reductions in natural gas costs for customers in both its eastern and western operating divisions.
The changes, filed under File No. GR-2024-0341, are set to take effect on November 15, 2024.
Spire’s updated Purchased Gas Adjustment (PGA) factors reflect a decrease in natural gas prices and the recovery of costs deferred from Winter Storm Uri.
For customers in Spire East, the PGA rate will drop from $0.77588 to $0.52486 per centum cubic feet (Ccf), marking a decrease of approximately $0.25102 per Ccf.
Meanwhile, in Spire West, the rate will fall from $0.91988 to $0.62139 per Ccf, a reduction of around $0.29849 per Ccf.
The adjustments were prompted by the company’s annual evaluation of gas prices and cost adjustments.
The updated rates were initially filed on October 31, 2024, with a corrected sheet submitted for Spire East on November 1 to fix an error in the initial filing.
