Deadly crash shuts down all lanes of northbound 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles
A fatal crash shut down all northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles just as the Tuesday morning rush hour began.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported just after 5 a.m. near the 3rd Street exit.
Sky5 was overhead at 5:15 a.m. and observed first responders laying a sheet over a body in the far right lane of the freeway. A heavily damaged vehicle was seen nearby.
CHP investigators were unable to confirm whether the victim was a pedestrian who was struck or if they were inside the vehicle at the time of the collision. The decedent, a man around 50 years old, was found on the shoulder and pronounced dead at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department stated.
