Comedian Kevin Hart will perform at Jacksonville’s Florida Theatre a week before Christmas.
Hart, the diminutive comic who seemingly appears in every commercial on television while still managing to star in 11 box-office champion movies, will be at the historic downtown venue at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. Ticket prices for the show were not released, but they will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, with three levels of VIP packages available. The venue seats about 1,900.
The Acting My Age Tour show will be a “phone-free experience.” All cell phones will be locked in a Yondr pouch, which will render it useless until the end of the show. Anyone caught using a phone or smartwatch during the show will be asked to leave. The practice has become common at big-name comedy shows, where the stars don’t want their new material to be leaked.
Hart starred in his first stand-up television special in 2009. He subsequently appeared in “Ride Along,” “Get Hard,” “Central Intelligence” and three “Jumanji” movies. He has half a dozen new projects in development.
