[1] Bernalillo County DA proposes changes to children’s code to legislative committee – Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman is presenting lawmakers with a plan to tackle juvenile crime in New Mexico. Bregman says from January of last year to November of this year, there have been over 1,000 juvenile cases. Bregman proposed amendments to the children’s code to crack down on youth crime. Changes he’d like to see include expanding what juvenile’s can be charged for as adults.

[2] Man sentenced for 2023 murder of Alamogordo police officer – The man convicted of killing an Alamogordo police officer will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Investigators say Officer Anthony Ferguson was chasing Dominic De La O following a crash after a traffic stop. They say Officer Ferguson was fatally shot by De La O during the chase. Prosecutors said De La O was recorded on a jail call bragging about the murder. De La O to life in prison plus six and a half years for killing Officer Ferguson.
