As we head into the middle of the week, the weather is a bit of a rollercoaster. Expect near to above-average temperatures through Thursday, but a significant cooldown is on the horizon for the weekend. A low-pressure system is expected to move across the western U.S., bringing much cooler weather by Friday, with temperatures dropping well below normal.
Today, temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-70s in the lower deserts, a noticeable dip from the past few days, along with some breezy conditions. Gusts could reach 25-30 mph, especially in southeast California and the Lower Colorado River Valley. By Wednesday, a brief warm-up is in store, as temperatures climb back to near-normal highs, with lower desert areas seeing upper 70s and parts of southern Arizona hitting the low 80s by Thursday.
