Warming up toward the weekend after winter storm

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) – Happy Wednesday, Utah! It’s another cold start to the morning with many areas dropping down into the 20s to near 30.

Our Wednesday will feature mostly sunny to partly sunny skies and warmer conditions. Highs will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s for northern Utah, 50s for central, and southwest Utah will climb into the 60s.

Bottom Line?! Sunshine returns Wednesday, with a warming trend through Friday.

Thursday will feature another day with sunshine and a few high clouds developing. Overall, look for a warm front to move through the area, bringing slightly warmer temps. Highs will be in the mid-50s across northern Utah and the upper 60s for southwest Utah.

Our next weathermaker begins to approach the area Friday, leading to increasing clouds but still mild temperatures. Highs will warm into the upper 40s to low 50s north and 60s across southwest Utah.

Rain showers begin to develop Friday evening, and as colder air works its way in, it looks like rain will mix with and change to snow showers Friday night into Saturday. Some minor accumulations will be possible for valley locations, with several inches possible for the mountains.
