Murder trial for 2 charged in Lynwood St homicide set for February

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two men charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting two years ago in east Bakersfield are scheduled for trial in February.

Jerimiah Ausbie, 19, and Isaiah Jauregui, 25, had a court hearing Wednesday during which a trial date was scheduled Feb. 24. Both men are being held without bail.

They’re accused in the death of Alexis Herrera, 22. He was shot three times on Nov. 6, 2022, in the 2600 block of Lynwood Street and died the next day.

Phone records indicate Jauregui and Ausbie went to the area of the crime scene at the time of the shooting and fled immediately afterward, according to sheriff’s reports. Investigators determined Herrera was a rival gang member.
