MPD: 2 arrested in connection to Southeast DC shooting

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said two men were arrested in connection to a shooting that took place in Southeast D.C.

On Nov. 8 at about 4 p.m., police responded to the report of a shooting in the 700 block of Chesapeake St.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been shot.

Responders took him to the hospital *in stable condition for the treatment of critical injuries.

After an investigation, MPD said officers arrested 32-year-old Vance McIlwain, of Northwest, D.C. and 31-year-old Kenneth Johnson, of Southeast, D.C. Authorities charged both men with Assault with Intent to Kill.
