The shootout was fueled by a yearslong feud between the two men and involved over 20 rounds fired from their pistols, according to reporting from Bluffton Today . No additional injuries were reported.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Chaney remained in custody at the Jasper County Detention Center. Due to the severity of his murder charge, a circuit court judge is required to set his bond. Jasper County Circuit Court reconvenes Nov. 18.
