Heavy Showers & Thunderstorms Likely Across South Carolina
11/14/24 9:33am EST
Good morning everyone. We have unfortunate news for much of the Northeast as drought conditions will continue onward due to high pressure suppressing our next system south of areas in need of rain. It’ll also be an unseasonable chilly day today with highs struggling to get out of the 40’s across the region due to clouds and a damp northeast wind. Sunshine returns slowly tomorrow, and we’re in the 50’s & 60’s with dry conditions Saturday onward.
That system out west will pose a big problem for areas such as Virginia, North Carolina, and possibly South Carolina as low pressure will transfer its energy to the coast and rapidly deepen. Look for showers and thunderstorms to increase in intensity and scope as the day wears on, then we will see winds increase later today & tonight. As low pressure deepens, we could see storm force winds across parts of the North Carolina and Virginia coast, as well as offshore areas of South Carolina.
