The Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed an investigation is underway of the Hospital for Behavioral Medicine at 100 Century Drive. The agency did not provide details because the probe is ongoing.

UMass Memorial Health referred inquiries to Evelyn Alsup, the hospital’s chief executive officer. Alsup did not respond to an interview request.

The Hospital for Behavioral Medicine opened in 2019 and offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults.

The Worcester Business Journal earlier reported Alsup joined the hospital in January, becoming its third CEO in five years.

In 2021, Alsup was determined by state health officials in North Carolina to lack the competence to run a for-profit psychiatric hospital and treatment facility in the town of Garner, according to a report in The News & Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina .
