46-Year-Old Cold Case Solved

A breakthrough has been made in a cold case dating back nearly 46 years.

Arrest Made

Timothy Scott Joley, 71, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Theresa Marcoux and Mark Harnish in 1978. Joley was arrested in Clearwater, Florida, and is being held without bond.

Decades-Long Investigation

The victims, both in their early 20s, were found shot dead in a pickup truck in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The case went cold despite extensive investigation.

Fingerprint Breakthrough

A fingerprint found at the scene was recently matched to Joley through a fingerprint database. Investigators also obtained a fingerprint card from Joley when he applied for a taxi license in 2000.

No Known Motive

According to authorities, there is no known motive for the killings. Joley, who lived in Springfield at the time of the murders, was not previously considered a suspect.

Families Gratefully

The families of Marcoux and Harnish expressed gratitude for the resolution of the case, despite the fact that their parents never saw justice. The district attorney praised their patience and resolve.
