Powerball ticket sold in Northern California nets $252k prize

(FOX40.COM) — Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing did not result in anyone winning the jackpot, but a ticket sold in Northern California did nab a large prize after matching five winning numbers.

The California Lottery said a ticket sold at a pharmacy in Lincoln , about 25 miles northeast of Sacramento, matched five numbers but not the Powerball number, winning a prize of $252,655.

Another ticket sold in California matched four numbers and got a prize of $20,191.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 9, 20, 26, 43, 58 and Powerball 9.

Since nobody matched all of them, Saturday night’s jackpot has now risen to around $130 million.

The actual amount will depend on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners who match all numbers.

The winners of Powerball prizes have one year to claim their prize. In California, the winner’s name, the name and location of the place they bought the ticket, the date of the drawing and the amount of the winnings are made public by the California Lottery.
