In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Linda Jamison of Colorado Springs drove over 25 hours to Swannanoa, North Carolina, to help support survivors. She spent a week and a half in a camper she’d bought with her savings, cooking and serving meals for nearly 1,000 people affected by the hurricane. With no other options to get a hot meal, she says her services were in high demand and she was being called upon to feed over 100 people a day.
