Beckwith, Delphi and floppy disks top this week’s headlines

Hello, subscribers! I’m Digital Editor Joe Mutascio and we made it to another Friday after a busy week in Indiana, so let’s jump into the biggest stories you helped us tell.

We started the week with a verdict in one of the biggest cases in state history. The jury found Richard Allen guilty on all counts in the murders of Libby German and Abigail Williams, ending a search for their killer that lasted more than seven years. We’ve covered the case since the beginning and will continue to bring you the latest on his sentencing and any future appeals. Read more below about what issues in this trial a potential appeal might focus on.

As the week continued, we took you behind the scenes of a local artist’s efforts to bring floppy disks back. She isn’t hoping the nostalgic tech makes a return to your computer, but she is making some incredibly unique art with them. One of her most recent pieces depicts the Circle City’s own David Letterman and will live in the InterContinental Indianapolis hotel when it opens downtown this winter. Read, see and hear more from her on the art below.
