5 dogs seized after cat deaths reported near north Fresno golf course

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Five dogs were seized by the City of Fresno after they were reportedly seen chasing and killing cats near Riverside Golf Course, city officials announced on Thursday.

The capture came after YourCentralValley.com previously reported that a man who lives nearby, off West Alluvial and North Gregory Avenue in northwest Fresno, had footage of a pack of dogs roaming the neighborhood. He said that the dogs had already been responsible for the death of a beloved neighborhood cat.

According to the City of Fresno, the dogs were seized on Thursday morning – but one dog remains on the loose. It follows the similar capture on Nov. 12 of two dogs involved in similar incidents in the area of Clinton and Brawley avenues.

In total, 22 dogs have been seized following reports of aggressive behavior. City officials say all were inadequately contained within their owners’ properties.
