A baby was killed Thursday after someone allegedly threw the newborn out of a fifth-story window.
The LAPD confirmed to KNX News’ Emily Valdez that they were called out to San Pedro and Sixth Street on Skid Row at 5:30 Thursday morning, where a group of people were doing CPR on the newborn in an alley.
The L.A. City Fire Department confirms they pronounced the baby dead at the scene.
A source close to the investigation told KNX News a woman called 911 from the location at about 2:30 in the morning, saying she was bleeding. She was taken to the hospital.

At 5:30 AM, custodians were cleaning up outside when they found the baby in the alley.
The Medical Examiner has yet to post any information regarding the death, leaving the child’s age and gender unknown.
The LAPD’s child abuse unit is heading the investigation, and it is unclear if anyone has been arrested at this time.
