Troopers escort U.S. Capitol Christmas tree through Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The official U.S. Capitol Christmas tree journeyed through Nebraska this week as part of its route to Washington, D.C. The Nebraska State Patrol said the tree, which was harvested from the Tongass National Forest in Alaska, entered the state on Tuesday and made an overnight stop in Kearney. State troopers, along with four U.S. Forest Service officers, escorted the Alaskan trucking company transporting the tree to Omaha for a scheduled event on Wednesday.
