IMPD: 5 arrested in 48 hours, multiple firearms seized

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced that officers arrested five people between Wednesday and Thursday

As stated in a Facebook post , this started with the arrest of 24-year-old Elijah Miller of Carmel. According to previous reports , Miller was wanted for a Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony) incident that took place in late October, before he turned himself in to local authorities Wednesday night.

Next came the arrest of 36-year-old Richard Pippens. On Sept. 30, IMPD officers from the northwest district responded to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of W. 37th Street. Then, while driving, officers heard that a male had been shot a mile away from the initial call.

IMPD said this directed them to the 3600 block of Crescent Drive, where they found a stationary Chevy sedan sitting in the roadway. Inside the car, officers found a male suffering from injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Per IMPD, he was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
