SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Nearly three dozen families who live at a RV Park in Vista’s Green Oak Ranch received eviction notices this week as a nonprofit is gearing up to take over the facility at the beginning of next year.
The notices, which require them to leave by Dec. 1, come months after the nonprofit Solutions for Change penned a deal with the city of Vista to take over the ranch from Green Oak Ranch Ministries, who has long operated the area as a recovery center for homelessness and addiction.
“I’ve been here 11 years,” said resident John Lamb. “All the kids have grown up here, young kids that have been friends and neighbors this entire time.”
Lamb is a retired artist on a fixed income who pays $1,000 a month in rent. He’s not sure where he will go on such short notice.

“That’s between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Gee, where’s the compassion?” Lamb said.
Vista Mayor John Franklin says the RV park does not have the proper permits and needs work to bring it up to city code.
