A mix of isolated showers and thunderstorms is expected to continue across the Bay Area today, with temperatures staying cool through the weekend. Radar shows scattered showers moving south from the North Bay, with the San Francisco and Oakland areas in line for more rainfall. While the thunderstorms won’t be severe, the region is seeing the ingredients for some stormy weather, including instability and moisture from an incoming cold front.
Temperatures will remain on the cooler side, ranging from the mid 50s to low 60s at lower elevations, with higher areas seeing lows around 50 degrees. On Friday morning, temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s and 40s inland, while afternoon highs will be in the 50s and 60s in lower elevations, with cooler 40s in the mountains.
Though the rain may taper off this evening as the region loses daytime heating, the chilly weather will continue into early next week, with a warming trend expected by the middle of the week.
