( WJET/WFXP )– With the temperatures dropping and the slick, ice-covered roads of winter not too far off, Pennsylvania State Police are hosting free child car seat checks.
Members of PSP Erie and Warren will each have their own separate events where parents and caregivers can have car seats checked for suitability, receive instruction on proper installation, and have their seat(s) installed, the proper way to strap children in and have their seats checked for recalls.
North East police investigating after suspicious man tries to pick up student
PSP Erie’s event will take place at the West Ridge Fire Department South Station located at 4775 Sterrettania Road on Dec. 1 from 12-5 p.m.
PSP Warren’s event will be at the Warren County Visitors Bureau located at 22045 US 6 on Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and attendees can call 814-728-3600 for any questions about the event.

The free seat checks come as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s ‟Click It or Ticket” campaign and will not require any appointments.
