A worker died after an accident in a construction zone at a high school in Orange County on Thursday morning, authorities confirmed.
According to the Orange County Fire Authority and Orange Unified School District , the incident took place at Villa Park High School at about 10:21 a.m.
Authorities said the accident took place in a “construction zone,” but the exact location on campus wasn’t revealed.
Two workers were injured in the accident, both adults. One was transported to a local trauma center in unknown condition.
The other was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities confirmed. That person’s identity was yet to be released as of Thursday afternoon.
No students or staff were present at the time of the accident, and no students were ever in any danger, authorities said.
No additional details, including the nature of the accident, were immediately made available.
