A multi-vehicle crash that occurred near the Georgia/Tennessee state line left drivers stranded overnight on the interstate, according to reports.
The crash occurred around 11 p.m. on November 13 on I-24 in the area of Dade County, Georgia and Marion County, Tennessee, WTVC reports.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, twelve vehicles crashed in the eastbound lanes of I-24. Six of the vehicles were passenger vehicles, while the other six were commercial vehicles.
It isn’t clear whether anyone was injured in the crash.
The interstate was closed overnight as police and crews responded to the crash, leaving a number of drivers stuck in the traffic backup for hours. Eastbound I-24 reopened around 9 a.m on Thursday morning.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
