BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WPRI) — The R.I. Department of Labor and Training (DLT) said Thursday that employees can once again work on the property of “The Conjuring” house.
This comes after owner Jacqueline Nuñez was issued a stop-work order from the DLT due to an investigation into her business on Round Top Road in Burrillville.
The DLT discovered that Nuñez had not had workers’ compensation insurance for her employees since May, which is required by law.

Nuñez, who bought the home two years ago for roughly $1.5 million, claimed she was unaware that she needed the coverage.
The DLT said Thursday that Nuñez now has the insurance needed to operate. However, the case is still in the hands of the Workers’ Compensation Court, which will determine if she’ll face fines.
The investigation into Nuñez and her business began back in August when a former employee said he was fired after she accused him of stealing money.
