Central Arkansas mothers helping families heal through grief support group

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –  Last year, amid tragedy, grief and heartache, several mothers came together last year hoping to help other families heal. Now, they say they’ve met many families and hope to help more.

Keysha Moore said she wanted to turn her pain into purpose, leading the grief support group at First Baptist Church in North Little Rock after the death of her son Alex Berry.

“Helping people get through their grief has helped me get through mine,” Moore said.

In 2022, officials with the Little Rock Police Department said they found 17-year-old Marcus Blue of North Little Rock and 17-year-old Alex Berry of Little Rock shot and killed.

“The night I was told he was killed my whole thought was how am I going to be able to go on with my life because that was my only child,” Moore said.

But Moore was able to go on, being one of the moms who started the group last year said she can’t believe how it has helped her heal.
