Oregon is a win away from being in the Big Ten Championship – the win over Ohio State pretty much whacks all tie-breakers. If it doesn’t happen in Madison there’s another shot with Washington to follow.
The No. 1 team in the land has hit its stride. The schedule hasn’t been all that bad – no Penn State, no Indiana and Michigan stinks – but it passes its one big test. Realistically, it’s also one more win away from getting a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Wisconsin is WAY overdue for something strong. It beat the teams it was supposed to, got whacked hard by the teams it was supposed to, and now it needs to make a statement of some sort with at Nebraska and Minnesota to close. Getting that sixth win and a bowl game isn’t a given.
