Officers warning Wisconsinites in multiple neighborhoods of two roaming coyotes ‘seen regularly’

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – After receiving more than a dozen calls in the past two weeks of possibly two different coyotes roaming multiple southern Wisconsin neighborhoods, officers are warning residents of what to do if they see either coyote.

Releases posted by the Madison Police Department and the University of Wisconsin Urban Canid Project detail where the two coyotes have been spotted and describe how the public can use hazing methods to scare away the animal.

Officers say that within the past two weeks, Madison PD has gotten more than a dozen calls about an injured coyote in the Midtown District. The University of Wisconsin Urban Canid Project has also received reports.
