For causing fatal shootout at Baton Rouge car wash, judge sentences man to 30 years

A Baton Rouge man convicted of setting off a mid-afternoon shootout at a busy car wash that left one man dead was sentenced to 30 years in prison Thursday. Kamayrion Jermiolet Kevione Glasper, 22, opened fire at the Benny’s Express in the 4100 block of Perkins Road in June 2023 when he spotted a man he said had wounded him in a shooting five months earlier. Richard Eackels Sr., a 27-year-old father of four, was shot when he got caught in crossfire as the two men exchanged bullets near the vacuum pumps. He died beside his car with two of his young children sitting in the backseat.
