A 66-year-old man was shot dead during a Facebook Marketplace transaction at a Valero gas station in Dallas earlier this week.
Around midday, Ahmad Alkhalaf met with 19-year-old Amaya Medrano to sell her a black iPhone 15. They communicated through Facebook Marketplace and decided to meet near an Oak Cliff Valero gas station off I-35 and South Marsalis Ave.
They met around the time a nearby school was being let out. Police said through security footage, that Alkhalaf and Medrano had a small conversation until Medrano started to run off. As Alkhalaf followed her, she pulled out a gun and shot at him.
According to court records, two Dallas ISD police officers rushed to the scene and found Alkhalaf shot next to his pickup truck.
He later died at the hospital. He was a husband and father from Sasche.
On Wednesday, Dallas Police said Medrano was caught and now has been charged with capital murder and is currently in custody.
