GREENWOOD, IND — A 13-year-old boy who was shot Sunday has died.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office says James Davis died Thursday at Riley Hospital for Children.
Around 1 a.m. on Nov. 10, officers responded to a report of an attempted suicide at a home on Crescent Drive, just south of Greenwood Community High School. A 13-year-old boy was critically injured and taken to Riley Hospital.
Investigators learned five other children were at the scene, and the shooter, also 13, fired the gun while playing with it. The shooter later called 911 to report an attempted suicide. He was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted murder and is being held at the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Facility.
