Mynor Josue Fernandez Alfaro, 24, of Dundalk, Maryland, was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking scheme that distributed thousands of fentanyl pills, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Columbia.
Fernandez Alfaro, also known as “Mino,” pleaded guilty on June 21, 2024, to conspiracy to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, the department said.
The department reported that Fernandez admitted to supplying co-conspirator Jennifer Echeverria Flores with more than 4,500 fentanyl-laced blue pills, which she sold in five transactions to an undercover law enforcement officer between February and July 2023.
More than half of the pills contained over two milligrams of fentanyl, a concentration the DEA estimates as lethal.
Fernandez also distributed fentanyl to other clients and redistributors, the department said. Social media posts indicated his involvement in the scheme as early as October 2022.
The department reported that Fernandez used at least four firearms, including military-style rifles with extended magazines, to protect his supply and profits.
