SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A Coastal Flood Watch has been issued for several counties in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry Friday, with around 1-2 feet of saltwater inundation possible.
The Coastal Flood Watch has been issued for these counties in our area:
- Beaufort
- Bryan
- Chatham
- Colleton
- Glynn
- Jasper
- Liberty
- McIntosh
A Coastal Flood Watch has been issued for our area for Saturday morning between 6-10 a.m.
The Savannah River at Fort Pulaski is forecast to reach 10.5 feet, which is a major flood stage, Saturday morning. This will likely lead to the closure of U.S. Highway 80 between the Bull River Bridge and the Lazaretto Creek leading up to high tide, which should happen around 8 a.m.

Saltwater inundation is expected all along the Georgia and South Carolina coasts.
This will again be an issue Sunday morning, though the forecast tide level is forecast to be closer to 10 feet. If the forecast of 10.5′ verifies, this would be a Top 10 crest at Fort Pulaski.
