This year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will be the last held in San Antonio, ending a run for the event that started in 2008.

the marathon will depart the city, adding that her organization will announce its replacement on Monday, Nov. 18.
San Antonio’s final Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will take place Dec. 7 and 8. Funds raised by this year’s race will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon is part of a larger series that visits cities throughout the country including Las Vegas, San Diego, Nashville, Washington D.C. and Tempe, Arizona. The series also is expanding internationally with races in Madrid and Manilla.
Series organizers blamed the City of San Antonio and San Antonio Sports for moving “in a different direction” and creating their own marathon, rather than partnering with Rock ‘n’ Roll’s existing event, according to an email to participants as

“As we continue preparations for a great 2024 event, we are deeply saddened to share the news that the Rock ānā Roll Running Series San Antonio will not be returning to the Series in 2025,ā the email read.
