CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Syphilis infections quadrupled among Iowa women between 2019 and 2022, and the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services says it’s still seeing that trend in 2024. Iowa HHS is encouraging healthcare providers to include syphilis as part of regular STI testing for women.
