HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WKRN) — A man died Friday afternoon following an incident involving a train in Hopkinsville, according to officials.
The Hopkinsville Police Department told News 2 a call came in just before 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 about a train hitting a pedestrian near East 21st Street and Walnut Avenue.

Authorities said the pedestrian was struck and killed by the train. No additional details will be released about the man until next of kin is notified.
None of the crew members on the train were injured in the collision, police reported.

The train was stopped on the tracks following the incident, blocking roads for nearly two hours . As a result, the East 18th Street bridge was the only way around the train within city limits, according to officials.
