The early signing period for every sport besides football began Wednesday, Nov. 13, with the first national signing day for the high school Class of 2025. A number of Stanislaus District athletes put pen to paper, making good on their verbal commitments to NCAA Division I, II and III, and NAIA schools.
A pair of Northern California softball champions signed Division I scholarships Thursday, Nov. 14 at Central Catholic High school.
Infielder/outfielder Taryn Calderon made good on her commitment to the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and infielder Jazmarie Roberts signed with Arizona State University. Both are All-VOL performers last season for the Raiders. In 2024, Roberts finished second on the team in batting average (.446), runs (37), hits (41), RBI (31) and triples (5) and led the team with 12 doubles. Calderon finished second on the team in home runs (6) last season. She finished as one of the team’s leaders in batting average (.388), runs (29), hits (31) and RBI (19).
They signed alongside classmate Hailey Kolding, who will cheer at Cal State University Northridge, where she will appear on sidelines at athletics events and will compete for the Matadors. Kolding says her background in dance helped with her transition into cheer, which she picked up recently.
