Strategies for Improving Dental Care for Children with Autism

The National Autism Center (NAC) is offering a free webinar for parents and caregivers of autistic children on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 5:15pm – 6:30pm EST. The webinar will feature a pediatric dentist and a certified dental assistant who provide specialized dental care to children with autism. They will share some behavioral intervention strategies to make a visit to the dentist less stressful, including preparing the office and support staff, their unique pretreatment assessment forum, the team huddle before the visit, debriefing after the visit, and other ideas for addressing challenging behaviors within the dental setting.
