Detroit mother charged in fatal I-75 crash that ejected 4-year-old son

DETROIT (FOX 2) – She was involved in a crash that killed her four-year-old child, and now a Detroit mother is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter. Shaniqua Baskin was driving her son Ja’Quavious King-Baskin, unrestrained, in the backseat when her brakes stopped working. She crossed over the median on I-75 near I-94 in Detroit, hitting another car. Ja’Quavious was ejected and was later found lying on the highway when Michigan State Police got there.
