Three men wanted in shootout at Summer Avenue club

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for three men who fired shots at a nightclub after one of them got kicked out of Las Toxicas at Summer Avenue and I-240.

The three suspects were caught on camera walking away from the club together.

A security guard, who did not want to be identified, said they got into a silver Honda, left the lot, and fired a shot toward him and several other employees.

“There wasn’t an altercation between security and them, there wasn’t an altercation between them and other people,” he said. “So we were stunned. Like, why did it turn the way it turned?”

The security guard said before the shooting, the men were holding AR-style pistols in a threatening manner. He said after the suspects fired at the club they turned around and shot several more times toward the business and that’s when he returned fire.

“My mind wasn’t in the moment of you might get shot; it was more you need to protect the people that are up there,” he said.
