Four of five lanes on major California toll bridge to close overnight for a festive holiday reason

The Bay Area’s beloved holiday tradition is back! The iconic Bay Bridge wreath will make its grand appearance, spreading festive vibes with its 13-foot-8-inch size, 300-pound weight, sparkling silver and gold ornaments, and a dazzling red bow.

Westbound I-80 travelers should note partial lane closures from Saturday, Nov. 16, at 11 PM to Sunday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 AM. Up to four lanes will close near the toll plaza, but at least one lane will remain open. Drivers are urged to watch for signs, follow CHP guidance, and bring extra patience.

This tradition, brightening Bay Area holidays for over 80 years, is made possible by the dedicated efforts of Caltrans and BATA crews.
