HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville man is in custody after police say he was jumping onto traffic and spitting at officers.
According to police records, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Virginia after receiving reports of a man, Richard McIntyre, jumping onto traffic.
After making contact with McIntyre, officers say he was erratic and calling them racial slurs. It was said he went on to also threaten the officers as well.
Upon being taken into custody, it is said McIntyre kicked behind him to strike one of the officers and spat towards another.
At the jail, McIntyre’s clothing was search and officers say they found a plastic bag containing what they believed to be gabapentin which is described as an anti-epileptic drug.
McIntyre was charged with the following:
- Battery Bodily Waste
- Battery against Public Safety Official
- Intimidation
- Resisting Law Enforcement Causing Injury
- Possession of Legend Drug
He is currently booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
