A cool weekend is in store for much of Southeast Virginia and Northeast North Carolina as high pressure builds into the region, bringing clear skies and seasonably cold temperatures. A frost advisory is in effect for areas away from the coast, where temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s tonight. However, coastal areas will remain milder with temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Looking ahead, temperatures will begin to rise Sunday, reaching the lower 60s under mostly sunny skies. By Monday, a warming trend will push highs into the upper 60s and lower 70s, with mild nights to follow. Showers are expected to return by Tuesday night.
