ESPN should be embarrassed by Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit’s efforts during first half of Tennessee Vols’ game against Georgia

Tennessee Vols fans who watched the first half of UT’s game against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night on ESPN probably weren’t very happy with Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler.

The duo put on a clinic on how to be unprofessional in the first half, glossing over obvious penalties by Georgia while essentially trash talking Tennessee’s players.

Herbstreit and Fowler both poked fun at Tennessee’s wide receivers for being cold on the sideline due to a section of heated benches not working (it was 55 degrees and breezy on the field). They joked numerous times about the players being cold, with Herbstreit at one point, for no reason at all, suggesting that he would be sitting on the non-heated section of bench (easy to say when you’re not actually on the sideline).

Herbstreit also appeared to question Vols cornerback Jermod McCoy’s effort on a missed tackle, despite not knowing what McCoy saw at field level.

Another frustrating moment for fans came when a Georgia defensive back hit a Tennessee wide receiver quite early, resulting in an incomplete pass. Herbstreit described the Bulldogs defensive back as getting there “just in time”.
