Idaho Winter Weather: Snow, Rain, and Freezing Temps Expected This Weekend

The weather in the Boise area is preparing for a change this weekend, with mostly clear skies and patchy fog this morning.

High clouds will increase as a warm front moves in from the northwest, bringing precipitation to Southwest Idaho by Sunday morning.

Snow levels will start low but quickly transition to rain below 5,000 feet by midday.

However, snow will rise to 5,000–7,000 feet by Sunday afternoon, with the possibility of freezing rain in eastern Oregon.

Winds will pick up Sunday ahead of a cold front, bringing snow back to the valleys Sunday night into Monday.

Expect light snow in lower elevations with a dusting at most.
